Laos Discovery Tour 12 Days

ITINENARY

DAY 1: LUANG PRABANG ARRIVAL (MEALS: NO)

Upon your arrival at Luang Prabang Airport, our driver will pick you up and drop you off at your city center hotel for check-in. You stay overnight at a hotel in Luang Prabang.

DAY 2: LUANG PRABANG – KUANG SY WATERFALL (MEALS: B)

You wake up early and visit the local market in the morning. You will have the opportunity to see and meet with the locals. Then you return to the hotel for breakfast.

After breakfast, you visit Vat Xieng or Royal City Temple – one of the most important monasteries of Laos with the spirit of religion, royalty and traditional art.

Next, you visit Kuang Sy waterfall – one of the beautiful waterfalls of Laos with turquoise color. On the way to this majestic waterfall, you will pass through rice fields and lovely small villages. You stop to visit several villages and then relax by this beautiful waterfall.

In the afternoon: you return to Luang Prabang and visit the Center for Traditional and Ethnic Arts – recognized by UNESCO as a heritage and preserved. You will be able to visit the traditional clothes, religious artifacts, daily labor tools of ethnic minorities in Laos. You will learn a lot of interesting information about the culture and history of Laos.

Next, you enjoy the sunset on Mount Phousi – where you can enjoy the whole city. After that, you return to the hotel and visit the H’Mong Night market, you will have the opportunity to find and buy many souvenirs in traditional Lao style. You can also enjoy Lao street food here.

You stay overnight at a hotel in Luang Prabang.

DAY 3: LUANG PRABANG CITY TOUR – PAK OU CAVE (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you visit:

Royal Palace – also known as the National Museum. You will learn a lot of information about the long history and culture of Laos here.

Next, you visit Wat Mai – is a beautiful temple located near the Royal Palace and built in the 18th century. This is the largest and most richly decorated of the temples in Luang Prabang .

Then, you transfer to the pier to enjoy the beauty of the local river here. You will enjoy the beautiful limestone cliffs of Pak Ou cave from afar. This is a cave with thousands of Buddha statues making this place special. You visit and learn many interesting things in this cave.

Then you return to the city. On the way back, you will visit Ban Xang Hai village – a village specializing in the production of traditional rice whiskey of Laos. You will have the opportunity to enjoy the unique taste of wine here. Next, you move to Ban Xang Khong village – famous for wood paper-making and Lao silk weaving.

You return to the hotel to rest. You stay overnight at a hotel in Luang Prabang.

DAY 4: LUANG PRABANG – XIENG KHANG (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you depart for Xieng Khuang – a famous destination associated with the historical war from 1964 to 1973. Next, you visit the Plain of Jars – home to giant stone jars dating back at least 2000 years of history. You will learn a lot of useful information about the stories related to this field of Jars. You return to the hotel to check-in. You stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 5: XIENG KHANG – VANG VIENG (MEALS: B)

You wake up early and enjoy the poetic scenery in Xieng Khuang and then have breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you visit the central market of Phonsavanh – you will learn a lot of information about the history, culture and customs of the local ethnic people here.

You continue to depart for Vang Vieng. It takes you around 5 hours drive. Arrive in Vang Vieng, you visit Tham Chang cave – one of the most beautiful and famous caves in Vang Vieng. This is the home of migrants and settlers near Meuang village. At the foot of the cave, you will see clear water flowing from the mountain then flowing into the river. From this cave, you will enjoy the beautiful scenery of small villages and green rice fields. After that, you return to the hotel to check-in. You stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 6: DISCOVER WINNING VIENG (MEALS: B)

In the morning, you enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, you go to visit Pha Thao village – about 15km north of Vang Vieng. You will experience hiking for about 2 hours. On the way, you stop to visit the famous caves including:

Tham Hoi Cave: a cave with a length of about 4km with wild beauty. You will find a lot of interesting information here.

Tham Xang Cave (also known as Elephant Cave): is located in a beautiful limestone area in the northeast of Thakaek. This is a famous cave with unique limestone formations. You will enjoy the romantic view of the Mekong River from the top of the cave.

Afternoon: you cycle to visit Blue Lagoon through Ban Tai Nguen Nathong. On the way, you visit Lao Loum weaving village. You will learn a lot of useful information about the daily life of the locals here. This is a great place for you to relax and cool off after a long ride.

At the Blue Lagoon, you will visit Tham Poukham, also known as the Golden Crab Cave. It is named after several stalactites and stalagmites that resemble golden crabs. You will visit the beautiful cave.

After that, you return to the hotel to rest. You stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 7: VANG VIENG – VIENTIANE CITY TOUR (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you depart for Vientiane and explore the capital of Laos. You will visit famous destinations here:

Vat Sisaket: famous for its monastery walls containing thousands of small Buddha statues and beautiful decorative architecture. You will find a lot of interesting information here.

Vat PhraKeo: built in 1565 and is one of the most impressive temples in Vientiane. This is the famous Temple of the Emerald Buddha.

Pha That Louang (built in 1566 and repaired in 1930). This is the most important national monument of Laos. The pagoda was built and designed according to unique architecture reflecting the culture and identity of Laos. This is known as the symbol of the Lao national spirit.

Patuxay: is a monument of Laos built in 1957, inspired by the architecture of Triomphe in Paris combined with typical Lao motifs. This is the most prominent structure in the city and you will have a beautiful panoramic view of the city from the top of the monument

You return to the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel in Vientiane.

DAY 8: VIENTIANE – PAKSE – WAT PHOU – 4000 ISLANDS (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, our driver will take you to the airport for your flight to Pakse. Upon arrival in Pakse, our driver and guide will pick you up and depart for sightseeing:

Vat Phou Temple: listed in the UNESCO world heritage list. Wat Phou is a beautiful pre-Angkorian temple built on three levels.

Afternoon: visit Ou Mong ruins before going to Nakasong and take a boat trip along the Mekong River to the most beautiful islands of the Si Phan Done – Done Det area. Along the way, you will admire the idyllic scenery of the people living around.

You return to the hotel to check-in and relax. You stay overnight at a hotel in Vientiane.

DAY 9: DISCOVER 4000 ISLANDS (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you visit Don Det and Don Khone – two small famous islands for their unspoiled beauty that attracts many tourists to visit.

You take a tuk-tuk to visit these two islands. On the way, you will visit the fishing village of Ban Khone – where you will see the ruins of the French railway and visit the beautiful Liphi waterfall. You enjoy the fresh air and explore the life of the locals and take pictures here.

Afternoon: you get on a motorboat to continue to visit the Cambodian border, where the famous Irrawaddy dolphins live. If you are lucky, you will see them swimming in the river.

You return to the hotel to check-in. You stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 10: 4000 ISLANDS – KHONE PAPHENG – BOLAVEN (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, you depart for Khone Papheng – one of the very attractive tourist attractions. You will visit the 10km long waterfall –one of the largest waterfalls in Southeast Asia and known as the jewel of Laos.

You continue driving to Bolaven – a green and cool year-round destination with many tea and coffee plantations. Around the plateau, there are also a number of national parks, waterfalls, ethnic villages, beautiful forests that will bring you many wonderful experiences. You will have the opportunity to learn a lot of interesting information about the culture and customs of many ethnic groups such as: Laven, Alak, Katou, Ta-Oy, Houne, Ngai and Suk.

You return to the hotel to check-in and rest. You stay overnight at the hotel.

DAY 11: BOLAVEN WATERFALL – PAKSE (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. Then, you go to visit the most beautiful waterfalls: Tad Yeuang, Tad Phasoum and Tad Fan. You will be immersed in the poetic scenery of these majestic waterfalls. Then you move to Pakse. On the way, you will visit Dao Heaung market to learn about the specialties as well as the life of the local people. You return to the hotel and stay overnight at the hotel in Pakse.

DAY 12: PAKSE DEPARTURE (MEALS: B)

You enjoy breakfast at the hotel. After breakfast, our driver takes you to the airport and back home. End of services! See you again!
